Prey delivers all I could ask from a Predator film. The wild American frontier is a terrific location. The American Indian characters was a novel viewpoint, and it was done so effectively. The most crucial component of a Predator film is that the Predator looks and behaves authentic, which I believe is the greatest mistake of any movie that didn’t have Stan Winston in charge of the creature design. The Predator in Prey (2022) is one nasty creature. I’m not delighted that they veered from Stan Winston’s original, but it’s a terrific Predator on its own. I don’t know that (published here) it could have been done better.
